A charity supporting creative writers has been awarded funding for a nationwide project to research WHY WRITERS WRITE. Brighton based Real Writers Circle runs interactive workshops and peer group learning with successful authors and publishers. Their informal monthly evening events have attracted top national authors to share skills on a wide range of topics including ghost writing, screen writing, biography, fiction and finding publishers.
The project invites writers of all ages and abilities to workshops in Brighton, Brent, Folkestone, Lewisham and York. All attendees will learn from an established author and share creative ideas. The outcomes will showcase the importance of writing for mental wellbeing, reduce isolation for creative individuals and enhance UK diversity in cultural heritage.
The Writers Circle includes free training in how to facilitate their unique event format across the UK so that future programmes can be successfully replicated. Training on public speaking will also be included. Partnerships with libraries, colleges, booksellers, and literary organisations are being welcomed.
