The Owl Award has been presented by The Vlog Academy CEO Mi Elverson to Clive Bonny for his contribution to supporting Female Entrepreneurship. Clive has been lobbying the All Party Parliamentary Group for gender pay parity. The APPG inform UK government policy for entrepreneurship.
British Bank reports show female-only founder firms received just 2% of seed enterprise capital from angel investors whilst the lion’s share of private equity seed funding 80% going to male-only founder firms. CIPD reports also reported that women’s bonuses were 30% below their male counterparts at work.
Clive’s past family member Ann Bonny has a statue in her honour at Lewes Football Club for being the first lady entrepreneur to achieve gender pay parity with women. In 1720 Ann worked as a pirate in the Caribbean when the spoils of war were shared equally.
