A new service has been launched to help enterprises raise funds for growth. The service is aimed at early stage and existing high growth companies who are considering crowdfunding. Last year over 250,000 new enterprises accessed over £3 Billion pounds in equity finance and low cost loans. Crowdfunding has become one of the fastest routes for businesses and social enterprises to obtain alternative low-cost finance.

The service has been designed by Strategic Management Partners who have supported UK entrepreneurs since 1990.  SMP’s MD Clive Bonny says “Many early stage enterprises with great ideas and energetic people have difficulty raising funds. They are often unfairly perceived by potential funders as high risk in 3 key areas: management capability, intellectual property ownership and business sustainability. Our Check-Invest process uses recognised quality management standards and has been endorsed by private equity investors. The outcome is an independent report highlighting evidence in these areas to reduce risk for both investors and fund-raisers”

The latest investment industry surveys published by the Centre for Alternative Finance show one million investors now invest in over 70 crowdfund platforms. The report states that in the last year equity based crowdfunding has grown 295% to £332 million, with donation based crowdfunding growing by 507%.
