Paddington Bear took time out from his busy schedule to visit Auntie Val’s in Pulborough Sussex to help make 220 jars of Marmalade. These special handmade gifts have been donated to the National Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children. They were given to children attending the BAFTA world premiere of Paddington’s new film in London’s Leicester Square.
Auntie Val’s diverse team were excited at Paddington’s visit and showed him around the factory which produces more natural flavoured marmalades than anywhere else in the UK. Paddington follows in the footsteps of Master Chef Professional Champion Steven Edwards who has endorsed Auntie Val’s recipes for ensuring no additives and for its support in the community.
Auntie Val’s is a social enterprise and works with Special needs Children and young Adults, with a kitchen designed to be Disability friendly to enable the employment of people of all ages with Special needs. A recent party of 22 French students have been studying the special production method which like Paddington Bear date back over 50 years. The 36 Recipes include Liquorange, Orange Whisky and Ginger, Marmajam, and High Dumpsie Dearie.
GrowthAccelerator advisor Clive Bonny says “The people and products are so unique that Auntie Val receives orders from France, Dubai and even Australia. No wonder Paddington Bear wanted to dip some sticky fingers into their jars!”
