Brighton and Hove businesses were treated to a healthy breakfast presentation at Italian Restaurant Topogigio on how to look after your heart. The presentation by Terry Ayres, Chief Executive of the Sussex Heart Charity, included advice on cardiac resuscitation and rehabilitation. The charity has funded the training of over 100,000 members of the public through Heartguard Community Resuscitation.
The presentation was organised by Jill Humphreys, Chairperson of Hove Business Association as part of their regular monthly forums for local businesses to keep the employers and employees healthy and happy. There are over 20,000 businesses in the City which boasts the highest number of start-ups amongst UK cities.
Wellbeing consultant Clive Bonny added “Heart disease is in the top 3 UK causes of death and Brighton has more than most. This awareness training organised by HBA changes our attitudes and behaviours to help ourselves and others in need. Sussex Heart Charity has saved countless lives already and more businesses can take proactive and preventive action for their staff.”
